Distributed System
Design Software
- Distributed
System Design (DSD) v1.3.2 (22kB): This free utility program
calculates and displays the number of Control Contractor Ceiling Speakers
needed to cover a rectangular room. The results can then be printed and saved.
Version 1.3.2 adds the Control 24C Micro models.

DLL for DSD (427kB): Uncompress this file and place it in your WINDOWS\SYSTEM
directory if DSD doesn't run correctly on your machine.
CADP2 and EASE Acoustical Modeling Software
- CADP2 Demo (733kb):
Extract this self-extracting archive into a temporary directory on
your hard drive and run SETUP.EXE.
- CADP2 v1.25 Update Patch (302kB): This is an update for licensed copies of
CADP2. To utilize, download the attached file, de-compress, and copy files to a
floppy disk.
- JBL Professional Device Files for CADP2 (675kB): JBL Professional loudspeaker data files
for use with CADP2. This self-extracting file includes both directional data files
and mechanical drawings.
- JBL Professional Device Files for EASE (jbl4ease.exe, 113kB): JBL Professional
loudspeaker data files for use with the EASE v2.0 modeling program by Dr. Wolfgang Ahnert.
To extract, place this file in a desired directory, go to that directory and
type JBL4EASE.EXE -D at the DOS prompt. This places each enclosed
CATALOG.LSP file into a separate directory.

(93kB): Self-extracting archive
contains a utility program to create CADP2 device files from spreadsheet data or convert
from EASE v2 files. It also contains a utility to convert 3D CAD drawings to CADP2
mechanical files.
- CADP2 Absorption Conversion Utility (46kB):
The attached self-extracting file is a beta utility of TransABS.EXE. The
utility is used to translate between the binary data file CADP2ABS.DAT and an ASCII text
file for editing in spreadsheets or word processors.

JBL Smaart Acoustic Measurement System
- JBL Smaart v1.0 Demo (1.18Mb): Extract this self-extracting archive
into a temporary directory on your hard drive and run SETUP.EXE.
- JBL Smaart v1.4 Updater (677kb): Free maintenance upgrade for
registered users of JBL Smaart v1.x. In addition to the speed and performance
enhancements implemented in versions 1.2 and 1.3, version 1.4 increases the possible
number of averages for traces in the Real-Time module to 64 and improves the accuracy of
the Analysis module's Analyze function and data windows. This update is
recommended for all JBL-Smaart users.
- Reference-to-ASCII File Translator
Utility (106kb): This
stand-alone file utility translates the JBL Smaart Real-Time module's reference file
format into numeric ASCII data that can be imported into spreadsheets or any other
application that accepts standard ASCII text. Extract this self-extracting archive
into an empty directory on your hard drive.
